Hello everyone! Today I’m writing about my search for the book: The Hunger Games but first I’m gonna tell you about why I wanted it.
So, we were reading The Hunger Games in English and I absolutely loved it! (even though I was only on like, chapter two) I knew I couldn’t keep reading as slowly as a chapter a day. So the next day I checked out The Hunger Games from the library. and read it, once I had finished my work in English, Math and Art.
Anyways, I hadn’t even finished it when I was telling dad how I HAD to have it, reading it just wasn’t enough I had to own it, have it there to read anytime not just when I went to the library.
After dad dropped off Blaise at Ninja’s United we went to the first Goodwill. We scanned the hard backs, paper backs and even a bit of the children’s section. Sadly, we didn’t find it but we weren’t about to give up.
While we were driving to the next one, dad told me how he had a good feeling in his gut about this Goodwill. I was super excited, it was like a treasure hunt!
We got to the second Goodwill and started looking. We were close to the end when there it was! The Hunger Games! I saw it pulled it off the shelf, it was a bit scratched up but it was what I had been looking for.
We had to pick up Blaise from Ninja’s United but we were going to go to one last Goodwill in hopes of finding the rest of the series and I’m just going to say one word: Jackpot!
We found Catching Fire (second book) and Mockingjay (third book) we also found Eldest (second book in the Inheritance series) and another dystopian book called Matched. Catching Fire, Mockingjay and Eldest were all hardbacks.
What an adventure! we went to three different Goodwills and got a load of books. Have you ever went searching a bunch of different stores for something? If so what was it?
see ya! – Mica
