Wonder

Hey everyone! Today I’m writing about one of the best books I’ve ever read, so let’s get into it:

Wonder is about a ten year old boy Named August Pullman (Auggie). Auggie has a facial anomaly (that means his face looks different than others). Auggie is a completely normal kid, he loves Star Wars and plays Xbox. Because his parents are protective of him he’s homeschooled until fourth grade when his life takes an unexpected turn; Auggie’s parents are going to put Auggie into a public school! Join Auggie as he experiences being bullied, making friends and trying to survive public school. School is rough even without a facial anomaly. Read Wonder if you want to find out how Auggie survives school.

Here are the awards Wonder has won:

  • Amazon Best of the Year WINNER 2012.
  • Barnes & Noble Best Book of the Year WINNER 2012.
  • California Young Reader Medal WINNER 2015.
  • Christopher Award WINNER 2018.
  • Colorado Children’s Book Award WINNER 2014.
  • Georgia Children’s Book Award WINNER 2013.
  • Hawaii Nene Award WINNER 2015.

Have you ever read a book about a person who has a disability? If so which book?

Cool to hear about wonder! I’ve seen the movie but never read the book. I once read a book about Joni Erickson Tada who is a quadriplegic. It was very interesting to learn about her life.
